Writing Guidelines
JOURNIX (Journal of Informatics and Computing Excellence) Writing Guidelines
1. Focus and Scope
JOURNIX publishes scientific works in the field of informatics and computing, including both research results and original literature reviews. The journal's scope includes, but is not limited to:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning
- Data Science and Big Data
- Internet of Things (IoT) and Ubiquitous Computing
- Cybersecurity and Cryptography
- Computer Networks and Communications
- Software Development and Software Engineering
- Intelligent Systems and Optimization-Based Computing
- Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Multimedia Technology
2. General Requirements
- Submitted articles must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- Manuscripts must be written in Indonesian or English.
- The document should be formatted on A4 paper with 2.5 cm top and bottom margins and 2 cm left and right margins.
- The manuscript should use Palatino, 11pt, single spacing.
- Article length should be between 8 to 15 pages, including tables and figures.
- The title must not exceed 20 words, using Palatino, 14pt, bold, centered.
- Author names and affiliations should be centered and written in Palatino, 10pt, bold.
- The corresponding author's email must be included.
3. Article Structure
3.1. Research Articles
- Title
- Author Information (Name without title, Institution, Institution Address, Corresponding Email)
- Abstract (100–250 words in both Indonesian and English)
- Keywords (3–5 words/phrases)
- Introduction
- Research Methodology
- Results and Discussion
- Conclusion and Recommendations (if necessary)
- Acknowledgments (if any)
- References
3.2. Systematic Review Articles (Non-Experimental Research)
- Title
- Author Information
- Abstract (100–250 words in both Indonesian and English)
- Keywords (3–5 words/phrases)
- Introduction
- Main Discussion (can be divided into several subsections)
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgments (if any)
- References
4. Writing Format
- Abstract: Written in a single paragraph without citations, tables, or figures.
- Figures and Tables:
- Tables: Titles should be placed above the table, using Palatino, 10pt, no vertical lines.
- Figures: Titles should be placed below the figure, using Palatino, 10pt.
- All figures and tables must be sequentially numbered according to their appearance in the text (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).
- Mathematical Equations:
- Must be written using the Equation Editor in Microsoft Word.
- Equations should be centered with numbering on the right inside parentheses (1).
- Foreign Terms: Should be written in italics.
- Bullet Points:
- Use lowercase letters for the first level (a, b, c).
- Use numbers for the second level (1, 2, 3).
5. Citation and Reference Format
- References must follow the IEEE format, using numbered citations in square brackets [1], [2], etc.
- Citation and reference management should use Mendeley or Zotero.
- A minimum of 10 references is required, with 80% sourced from peer-reviewed journals published within the last five years.
- Avoid references from general websites unless they are official sources or standard documents.
Examples of IEEE Reference Formatting:

- [2] A. B. Penulis, Judul Buku, 2nd ed. Kota: Penerbit, 2023.

6. Review and Publication Process
- A double-blind peer review is conducted by two reviewers.
- The maximum similarity score allowed is 15% (checked with Turnitin or iThenticate). Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will not be processed further.
- The final decision for the article will be:
- Accepted without revision
- Accepted with revision
- Rejected
7. Publication Ethics
- The article must be original and free from plagiarism or duplicate publication.
- All figures, tables, and data used must have proper permissions or originate from legitimate sources.
- Authors are fully responsible for the article's content, including data usage and intellectual property rights.
